NOTICE
Radio stations licenced by the broadcasting commission of Ireland ceased broadcasting on Ireland’s second digital radio multiplex (Mux 2) on Sunday, 30th November. The stations were broadcasting on Mux 2 as part of a digital radio trial. RTÉ continues to broadcast on the RTÉ multiplex. ComReg and the BCI are currently exploring regulatory frameworks for digital radio multiplex licensing and broadcast licences. digitalRadio.ie advises you to contact the BCI (www.bci.ie) or ComReg (www.ComReg.ie) directly with comments on the continuation of commercial radio stations on digital radio platforms.

RTE's DAB stations now streaming online.
RTÉ’s trial digital radio stations are now available to listen to nationwide on the RTÉ website at www.rte.ie/radio
Digital radio has been on trial since March last year in the Greater Dublin and North East coast area and since March of this year in Cork and Limerick cities. Now radio fans outside of those areas have a chance to hear RTÉ’s trial stations online at rte.ie/radio.
As part of RTÉ’s digital radio trial the broadcaster is testing new content and programming. This means that the content may evolve and develop over the coming months before the final services are launched later this year. While the services are still on trial until November this year the broadcaster expects to further expand its digital radio network during 2009.
Electrical retailers in Dublin, Cork and Limerick are already stocking a wide range of digital radios from as little as €40.

Autotune please
Digital Radio is rapidly developing. Each week a wide range of on-air tests and content changes are carried out on RTÉ's digital multiplex. Service names change and station descriptions on the screen of your radio can often be updated. Recently the two transmitters involved in the trial have been tweaked in order to bring a better service and to improve the availability of our new range of digital stations.
To keep up with these changes, we recommend that you autotune your receiver from time to time. The process is simple. Press the menu button on your receiver and follow the link to Autotune. Press Autotune and the receiver will refresh with any updated information or services. The process takes less than a minute and ensures that you are regularly brought up to date with all the continuing developments in this new and exciting radio platform.

National Roll out
digitalRadio.ie hopes that by 2009 76% of Ireland's population will be able to receive DAB signals, including Arklow
In the meantime, some of the stations may become available via the internet before that date. We believe RTÉ is planning to make its new digital radio stations available on their website www.rte.ie/digitalradio shortly.
digitalRadio.ie will keep you informed of any developments and of the national roll-out plan once full licences (rather than trial) are granted.
