Ireland's first ever live digital radio broadcast to come from the Oxygen festival.

RTÉ Radio is set to double its live coverage of the three day Oxegen music festival this year with Ireland's first ever live digital radio broadcast coming from the festival and two stations set to broadcast live sets, interviews and much more from Punchestown.

RTÉ's new digital radio station, RTÉ 2XM, will be providing an alternative to the regular 2FM LIVE@OXEGEN coverage on RTÉ 2fm with more Oxegen, more uninterrupted live music, more interviews, no play lists, no greatest hits CDs and no DJ chat.

In addition to 2FM LIVE@OXEGEN on RTÉ 2fm and the web, RTÉ's new digital radio station RTÉ 2XM will compliment the 2FM LIVE@OXEGEN schedule with 2XM@OXEGEN available on digital radio and on the web.

RTÉ 2fm Oxegen producer Ian Wilson says;

"Not content with providing the most Oxegen coverage year after year, with more time on air (26 hours last year), more live music from more stages, more interviews, more sessions and more live dance music RTÉ 2fm is doubling its time live on air to over 50 hours of live radio and webcasting from Oxegen with the addition of 2XM@OXEGEN."

RTÉ 2fm is recording live music on four of Oxegen's six stages, along with BBC Radio 1 in Northern Ireland who work with RTÉ 2fm on all major events on the island.
Last year RTÉ 2fm brought Oxegen to an international stage with live music from Oxegen broadcast all over Europe via the Eurosonic Partnership, with hundreds of hours being broadcast by stations from Iceland to Israel and Russia to Morocco.
